5 Ways To Stay On Track With Your New Year’s Health Goals

January 6, 2018

The ball has dropped. The confetti has all been swept off the floor. Now it’s just you and your New Year’s Resolutions. If one of them was to get fit and live a healthier lifestyle, then I have five tips to help you get those gains and achieve those goals.

1 – Don’t take on this whole year in one bite. Before you know it, you get choked up and fall off the wagon. Instead, try setting mini goals that are doable and can be repeated. In this program you commit to 21 days of working out and healthy eating. When you succeed after 21 days, it is much easier to repeat another round. BAM! You are proud of yourself and excited to up your reps and stick to the plan another 21 days. This is the program that helped me stay motivated to lose 60 pounds.

2 – If you are still rocking those old gym shorts from freshman year of college (yeah, you know which ones I’m talking about). The it’s time to listen to Beyoncé ya and upgrade HA! Some fresh kicks with patterns that don’t look like they would be off your Grandma’s wallpaper will actually do wonders to help you get laced up and hit the ground running.

3 – So you might not be Channing Tatum or Jennifer Lopez ripped yet, but get an outfit you love that would fit your goal body. Hang it out and the open and look at it often so you stay on track. Don’t stop going until you are in it! Remember, you are in it to win it!

4 – Make an A List playlist! Do what all the other cool kids are doing and hop over on Spotify and make yourself a playlist that gets you excited to work out! It doesn’t matter what you like: polka heavy metal or 90’s Brittany Spears. As long as it gets you motivated to keep moving. This music is for you! As long as that when the workout is over your sayin’, “Hit me baby one more time!”

5 – Post about it! I personally did this. Every time I started a new program, I posted about it every single day until it was over. Did I fail, you bet I did! But it’s so much easier to stay on track, when your friends got your back!!
